History
Hirono Golf-jō-mae Station opened on 28 December 1936 as the original terminus of the Miki Electric Railway between Suzurandai and Hirono Golf-jō-mae, in what is now Miki, Hyōgo Prefecture. The line was extended past it in December 1937, demoting the station to an intermediate stop. It was renamed Hirono Shinkai on 22 December 1942 as a consequence of the outbreak of the Pacific War, and reverted to its original name on 1 April 1951. The platform was rebuilt as a passing loop with a single island in October 1984, and the station was destaffed in April 2000. It now sits on the Kobe Electric Railway Ao Line as station KB49.
Notes
During the initial months of the line's operation the Geibi Railway lent steam locomotives and gasoline cars to cover for incomplete electrification works, which were finished by 15 April 1937.
