History
Hiraiso Station opened on 3 September 1924 as a stop on the Minato Railway in present-day Hitachinaka, Ibaraki. It is now operated by the third-sector Hitachinaka Seaside Railway on the 14.3 km Minato Line. The station has a single side platform serving traffic in both directions, with the station building forming part of a local supermarket. It was modernised in 2011 with toilets and wheelchair access. Average daily use in fiscal 2011 was 144 passengers.
