Location

History

Hiraishi-chūō-shōgakkō-mae Station (no. 08) is an Utsunomiya Light Rail Utsunomiya-Haga LRT Line tram stop on dedicated right-of-way along Tochigi Prefectural Route 158 (Tatsu-kaidō) in Shimo-Hiraide-machi, Utsunomiya. The provisional name during planning was "Shimo-Hiraide". The stop's name was decided on 23 April 2021, and it opened on 26 August 2023. The stop has two opposed side platforms — the Haga-Takanezawa-direction platform and the Utsunomiya Station East-direction platform — facing each other.

At 8 kanji characters, Hiraishi-chūō-shōgakkō-mae shares the record for Japan's longest kanji-only railway station name with WILLER Trains Miyafuku Line's Fukuchiyama-shimin-byōin-guchi Station and Yagan Railway's Kami-Mi-yori-Shiobara-Onsen-guchi Station.
