History
Hinata Station opened on 25 March 1989, when the Tarumi Railway extended its Tarumi Line from Kōmi to Tarumi. The station sits in the city of Motosu, Gifu Prefecture, 28.3 rail kilometres from the line's opposing terminus at Ōgaki, and is assigned station number TR16. The single side platform serves one bi-directional track and the station is unattended, with only a small shelter on the platform. During planning, the gradient of the section spanning the Utsushi Tunnel through Hinata to the Hinata Tunnel was eased from 20 per mille to 10 per mille.
Notes
Each spring, railfans gather at Hinata in numbers to photograph the station and its trains framed against the cherry blossoms; it is one of the few photography spots on the Tarumi Line's newer section.
