Location

History

Hikawadai Station opened on 24 June 1983 on the Teito Rapid Transit Authority's Yūrakuchō Line, in Hikawadai, Nerima Ward, Tokyo. It was inherited by Tokyo Metro after the TRTA's privatisation in 2004, and Fukutoshin Line services through the same platforms commenced on 14 June 2008. Chest-height platform-edge doors were installed in August 2010, and a departure melody was introduced on 24 February 2011. The Wakōshi end of the station lies on a curve, and the alignment of the double-track shield tunnel that runs from Heiwadai to just short of Kotake-mukaihara is the reason Hikawadai is one of only two stations with opposed side platforms on the Yūrakuchō Line and the only one on the Fukutoshin Line.

Notes

The Yūrakuchō Line at Hikawadai runs through a double-track shield tunnel, which is why Hikawadai is one of only two stations on the line with opposed side platforms instead of an island platform.
