History

Higashi-Tsuzuki Station was newly established as a temporary stop on the Japanese National Railways Futamata Line on 8 July 1953. It was upgraded to a full station on 6 May 1955, and became a station on the Tenryū Hamanako Railway's Tenryū Hamanako Line when the Futamata Line was transferred to third-sector operation on 15 March 1987. Located at Tsuzuki, Mikkabi-chō, Hamana Ward, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, it is a ground-level station with a single side platform serving one track. The platform sits higher than its surroundings with no ramp access, and as an unstaffed station it has a waiting room on the platform. It is close to the Mikkabi Interchange on the Tōmei Expressway and serves as one of the tourism access points for the Oku-Hamanako (inner Lake Hamana) area.

Notes

A distinctive feature is a restroom in front of the station shaped like a mandarin orange, the area's local specialty.
