History

Higashi-Naruo Station opened on 21 November 1943, the day the Hanshin Electric Railway Mukogawa Line entered service, 0.7 km from the line's terminus at Mukogawa in Nishinomiya, Hyōgo Prefecture. Passenger service was suspended on 5 January 1946 and resumed on 10 October 1948. A passing loop was added on 3 April 1984 when the Mukogawa Line was extended south from Suzaki to Mukogawa-Danchi-mae, and station numbering (HS 53) was introduced on 1 April 2014. The station has no building, no staff, and only a simple ICOCA/PiTaPa card reader.

Notes

The 400 m to neighbouring Suzaki Station is the shortest inter-station distance anywhere on the Hanshin network in revenue kilometres.
