History

Higashi-Azuma Station opened on 15 April 1928 on the Tōbu Kameido Line in what is now Sumida ward, eastern Tokyo, and is operated by the Tōbu Railway. The 3.4-kilometre Kameido Line runs between Hikifune and Kameido; Higashi-Azuma sits 2.0 kilometres from Hikifune and is built as two opposed side platforms serving two tracks. The station is also served by the north-east route of the Sumida Hyakkei Sumimaru-kun and Sumirin-chan community bus, whose stop — also called Higashi-Azuma Station — is about two minutes' walk west of the station.
