It carries station number T19, is an underground station with two opposed platforms serving two tracks, has two exits, and is administered by the Tsurumai Line station office's Yagoto district station. Platform doors began operating on 6 April 2026. The area around the station has many hospitals and financial institutions as well as major restaurant chains and commercial facilities, and the station is known as the nearest to the Aichi Prefectural Driver's License Testing Center (commonly known as "Hirabari Shikenjō"). Nagoya municipal bus routes depart from the Hirabari Bus Terminal (bus stop name: "Chikatetsu Hirabari") adjacent to Exit 1.
