Location

History

Heian-dōri Station opened on 20 December 1971 on the Nagoya Municipal Subway Meijō Line, when the line was extended from Shiyakusho (today's Nagoyajō) to Ōzone. A second line, the Kamiiida Line, opened to the station on 27 March 2003, making Heian-dōri an interchange; the Kamiiida Line runs perpendicularly beneath the Meijō Line. Although the Kamiiida Line is operated by the Nagoya City Transportation Bureau, its facilities are owned by Kamiiida Connecting Line Co., Ltd. as a Type-3 railway operator, with the Transportation Bureau running services as a Type-2 railway operator. Platform-edge doors on the Meijō Line entered service on 11 October 2020.

Notes

Heian-dōri is the only station on the Kamiiida Line under Nagoya City Transportation Bureau jurisdiction, and is the line's starting point. The line's facilities are owned by Kamiiida Connecting Line Co., Ltd. as a Type-3 railway operator, with the Transportation Bureau running trains over them as a Type-2 operator.
