History

Gorōmaru Station opened on 15 October 1915 as a Mii Electric Tramway station. It merged into Kyushu Railway on 30 June 1924, and became a Nishi-Nippon Railroad station through the merger and company renaming of September 1942. The station building was rebuilt in 1972; the IC card nimoca became usable there from 18 May 2008. Station numbering A11 was assigned on 1 February 2017, and the station became fully unstaffed all day with the introduction of a centralized station management system on 1 April 2021. It is a ground-level station with one side platform and one track, located at Miyanojin 4-chōme, Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture.

Notes

Because it shares its name with rugby player Ayumu Gorōmaru, who became popular during the 2015 Rugby World Cup, tourists visited the station, and it was reported that some also bought 560-yen section tickets as a numerical pun on the name.
