Location

History

Fukushima Station opened on 12 April 1905 with the Hanshin Main Line, in Fukushima Ward, Ōsaka, originally at grade on the site now occupied by Ragza Osaka. Wartime damage caused a suspension in 1945, with services resuming on 26 October 1948; on the same day the nearby Deiribashi Station was abolished. The station was placed underground beneath National Route 2 on 5 September 1993, becoming an express stop from 11 April 1999. On 20 March 2009 express stops were withdrawn and the station became a Section Express stop instead. Station numbering was introduced on 1 April 2014.

Notes

After the station moved underground, Hotel Hanshin was built on the site of the former at-grade station, while the old line right-of-way now houses a police box and commercial buildings.
