Fukuonji Station opened on 10 February 1968 as a station on the Iyo Railway's Yokogawara Line. Barrier-free construction work was completed on 15 February 2010 and a ramp was brought into use. It is located in Fukuonji-chō, Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, and its station number is IY13. The station has a single side platform serving one track and is staffed; the neighboring stations are Iyo-Tachibana (IY12) and Kita-Kume (IY14).
