History
Fukiage Station opened on 30 March 1994 at Chikusa-dōri 7-chōme, Chikusa-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, as a station on the Nagoya Municipal Subway Sakura-dōri Line. The station straddles the boundary between Chikusa-ku and Shōwa-ku, with exits 3 and 4 located in Shōwa-ku and the others in Chikusa-ku. Platform-edge sliding doors entered service on 21 May 2011.
Notes
Because the Sakura-dōri Line passes beneath the Nagoya Expressway Route 2 Higashiyama Line, which runs in an open cutting at this point, the platforms lie unusually deep underground. The maintenance-vehicle base that services the Sakura-dōri Line's equipment sits between the up and down tracks just to the Imaike side of the station. The concourse is divided north–south and cannot be walked through.
