History
Fukae Station opened on 12 April 1905 in Higashinada-ku, Kobe as part of the original Hanshin Main Line, operated by the private Hanshin Electric Railway. The station was damaged by the Great Hanshin earthquake on 17 January 1995; through services in the affected area were restored by 26 June 1995. Station numbering was introduced across the network on 21 December 2013, assigning Fukae the code HS-21. Between April 2009 and November 2019 the line through the Sumiyoshi–Ashiya section was raised above grade: the westbound tracks moved to the new elevated alignment in December 2015 and the eastbound tracks followed on 30 November 2019.
Notes
When the grade-separation work finished in November 2019, Fukae exchanged its surface platforms for a pair of opposed elevated side platforms, completing a project on the Sumiyoshi–Ashiya section that had begun in April 2009.
