Location
History
Fujigaoka Station opened on 1 April 1966, its station building dating from the Den-en-toshi Line's Nagatsuta extension. Licensed in 1960 under the provisional name Yamoto, taken from the place name of its planned site, it was formally named Fujigaoka in September 1965 for a nearby Fuji mound and the wild wisteria growing there; the surrounding locality took the name in November 1966. It had no toilets, escalators or lifts until reconstruction began on 23 August 1999; automatic ticket gates followed on 8 March 2000 and an up-direction passing track on 23 March 2002. The elevated station, 22.1 kilometres from Shibuya, now has two side platforms and three tracks; local trains stand aside for expresses and semi-expresses in the morning peak.
Notes
After the last up-direction service each night, a single Tokyu train set is run empty to the station from the Nagatsuta direction and stabled there until morning, when it is taken on towards Azamino ahead of the first departure from Nagatsuta.
