Location

History

Esumi Station opened on 7 September 1938 and is served by the Kisei Main Line, known locally as the Kinokuni Line; it stands 242.0 kilometres from the line's terminus at Kameyama. At the 1 April 1987 privatisation of Japanese National Railways, control of the station passed to the West Japan Railway Company (JR West). The unstaffed station consists of a single island platform connected to the station building by a level crossing, and serves the seaside settlement of Esumi within the town of Susami in Nishimuro District, Wakayama Prefecture. In fiscal 2019 it averaged 13 boarding passengers per day.

Notes

Ezumi Port, Susami Municipal Esumi Elementary School and the Esumi branch office of Susami Town Hall all stand near the station.
