History

Enshū-Mori Station opened as a terminus named Tōtōmi-Mori Station on 17 April 1935, when the Ministry of Railways' Futamata Line opened between Kakegawa and this station; it became a through-station on 1 June 1940 when the line was extended toward Kanasashi. Freight handling ended on 1 June 1970, leaving it a passenger-only station. When the Futamata Line was transferred to third-sector operation as the Tenryū Hamanako Railway on 15 March 1987, the station passed to that company and was simultaneously renamed Enshū-Mori. On 26 January 2011 the main station building and the up-line platform were listed as national Registered Tangible Cultural Properties.

Notes

On 24 December 2019, when a launch ceremony was held for a train wrapped in livery for Yamaha Motor's "PAS" electrically power-assisted bicycle, the station was renamed "PAS Station" for that day only. From 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2024, Yamaha Motor held naming rights to the station, which operated with the subsidiary name "PAS no Furusato Morimachi" ("Morimachi, Home of PAS"). On 22 October 2025 the subsidiary name was changed to "eBike no Furusato" ("Home of the e-Bike"), reflecting the town's status as the birthplace of the world's first electrically power-assisted bicycle (e-bike).
