History

Ebata Station was established on 26 July 1925 with the opening of the Fukubu Electric Railway's line between Heiei Station (present-day Shinmei Station) and Fukui-shi Station (present-day Sekijūji-mae Station); it is located in Ebata-chō, Fukui, Fukui Prefecture. It became a station on that company's Fukubu Line with the founding of the Fukui Railway on 1 August 1945, and station operations ended, leaving it unstaffed, on 25 March 1991. Its station number is F15. It is a ground-level station with two opposed side platforms serving two tracks, and the platforms are not connected within the station premises. Express trains pass through without stopping. A substation is attached to the station, and the track on the east side is built to allow trains to pass in both directions.
