History

Domoto Station opened on 1 August 1959 as a station on the Ōigawa Railway Ikawa Line, at Aza Domoto, Okuizumi, Kawanehon, Haibara District, Shizuoka Prefecture. Service between Senzu and Okuizumi was suspended from 28 August 2010 because of the risk of a landslide, and since the replacement buses did not stop here the station itself was treated as suspended; service resumed on 12 August 2011. It is an unstaffed, ground-level station with a single side platform serving one track, one of the smallest stations along the Ikawa Line.

Notes

As of February 2018, the Domoto hamlet around the station was an ultra-depopulated settlement of three households and three residents, all of whom shared the surname Domoto, matching the place name and the station name.
