History
Dōmemae Chiyozaki Station opened on 29 August 1997 as "Osaka Dōmemae Chiyozaki Station" with the Osaka Municipal Subway Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line's extension between Shinsaibashi and Taishō. Following Osaka Dome's renaming to "Kyocera Dome Osaka" in July 2006, the station was renamed to its present name on 24 December of that year. On 20 March 2009, Hanshin Electric Railway opened an adjoining Dōmemae Station (HS 43) as part of the Hanshin Namba Line's extension between Nishikujō and Osaka-Namba, and the two stations were connected by a passageway. Platform screen doors began operating on the Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line in August 2010, and the station became one of the Osaka Metropolitan Rapid Transport Authority (Osaka Metro) with the privatisation of the Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau in April 2018.
Notes
Hanshin's Dome-mae platform is its deepest at 30 metres below ground; its walls feature roughly 160,000 bricks evoking the gas plant that once occupied the area.
