History
Dōjōminamiguchi Station opened on 18 December 1928 with the Kobe Arima Electric Railway's Sanda Line. On 9 January 1947 the operator merged with the Miki Electric Railway to form Shin'yū Miki Electric Railway, the predecessor of today's Kobe Electric Railway (Shintetsu). The station building was rebuilt in a south-European style in March 2007, with multifunction toilet facilities added. It is now an unstaffed passing station whose ticket machines and gates are worked by remote control from a centre station, with a single island platform serving two passable tracks plus a stub siding once used to load track ballast.
Notes
Although the surrounding district had little housing in 2007, the population of the Dōjō–Hatta area grew by roughly 50 percent in the following decade and the station's daily ridership rose by about 70 percent over the same period.
