History
Dentetsu-Ishida Station was established as Toyama Electric Railway's "Ishida No. 2 Signal Station" on 31 May 1937. It carried the designation "No. 2" because a separate Ishida Signal Station already existed toward Dentetsu-Sakurai Station (today's Dentetsu-Kurobe Station), which was abolished when this station opened. It opened as Toyama Electric Railway's Dentetsu-Ishida Station on 1 June 1940; it is said to have been given the "Dentetsu" (electric railway) prefix to avoid confusion with Ishidakō Station. It became a station of Toyama Chihō Railway with the company consolidation of 1 January 1943; the station building was rebuilt on 25 April 1958, and ATS was installed on 30 March 1998. It is currently operated as an unstaffed station with two opposed platforms serving two tracks, capable of train crossing.
Notes
From 1930 the area was served by the Kurobe Railway's short-lived Ishida-kō Line, built to develop the local port. When the parallel Toyama Electric Railway main line came through, the Ishida-kō Line was transferred to the new operator and quickly closed.
