History

Densha-jigyōsho-mae Stop (SC11) is on the Sapporo Streetcar Yamahana-nishi Line in Chūō-ku, Sapporo, north of the Fukuzumi-Sōen-dōri/Shiroishi-Moiwa-dōri intersection (Minami 21-jō Nishi 14-chōme). It opened on 23 November 1931 as Higashi-Honganji-Byōtō-mae Stop, was abolished on 1 December 1941, reopened on 15 August 1954 as Byōtō-mae Stop, abolished a second time on 1 August 1965 when it was absorbed into Gakugei-daigaku-mae (now Chūō-toshokan-mae), reopened on 1 May 1974 as Densha-jigyōsho-mae after the new south depot (now the Densha Sharyō Centre) was built nearby in October 1968, and was assigned the stop number SC11 on 1 April 2015.

Notes

Crew changeovers happen at Densha-jigyōsho-mae, where cars leaving the Densha Sharyō Centre join the inner-loop main line at the crossing just south of the stop, and the points at the depot junction are the only points on the Sapporo Streetcar main line that are not spring-loaded, being controlled instead by automatic time-differential detection of the car's stopping position using two short track circuits.
