History
Dashina Station opened on 8 April 1927 as a general station of the private Ina Electric Railway, when the line was extended from Kega to Dashina; later that year, on 26 December, the line was further extended to Tenryūkyō. The Ina Electric Railway was nationalised on 1 August 1943 and absorbed into the Iida Line. Freight and parcel handling ended on 1 December 1971, and Iida Line CTC operation brought destaffing in February 1984. The station passed to JR Central at JNR privatisation on 1 April 1987. On 23 May 1998 the station building burned down in an arson; a replacement waiting shelter was completed on 1 February 1999.
Notes
The original station building burned down in a 1998 arson attack; the arsonist was later identified as a local high-school student and arrested.
