History

Daishaka Station opened on 1 December 1894 as a government railway station in Ōsugi Village, Minami-Tsugaru District. Freight handling ended on 1 October 1970, and parcel handling ended on 1 October 1971, when the station was also unstaffed. It became a station of East Japan Railway Company at the division and privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, and a new station building designed to evoke a Buddhist temple entered use on 20 July 2007. On 31 March 2010 the simplified contract held by the nearby Itō liquor shop ended, and on 1 April the managing station was changed from Namioka Station to Hirosaki Station. The Suica IC card became usable on 27 May 2023.
