History
Chūgakkō Station opened on 2 November 1982 in Sakura, Chiba Prefecture, as a station on the Yamaman Yūkarigaoka Line. It was initially the terminus, but became an intermediate station when the section from this station via Ino Station to Kōen Station opened on 22 September of the following year, 1983. The station building was rebuilt in 2009 in anticipation of increased ridership from development in the surrounding area, and a facial-recognition boarding system, "Yūkari PASS," was introduced at the ticket gates on 15 June 2024. It is an unstaffed station with a single platform serving one track, equipped with a ramp but no restroom.
Notes
The station's name derives from the nearby Sakura Municipal Ino Junior High School, an unusually direct, straightforward use of a proper noun among the Yūkarigaoka Line's station names.
