History
Chiyogadai Stop (DY11) is on the Hakodate City Tram Yunokawa Line in Chiyogadai-chō, Hakodate, Hokkaidō. It opened on 29 June 1913 as Eisho-mae Stop, was renamed Chiyogadai — then written 千代ヶ岱 — on 23 April 1947, and took the present spelling 千代台 in 1968. Reconstruction began on 9 September 2017 and was completed on 28 November the same year, the rebuilt stop repeating the barrier-free layout used at Chūō-byōin-mae; during the works a temporary platform was set up on the opposite side of the irregular intersection, on the Goryōkaku-kōen-mae and Chūō-byōin-mae side.
Notes
Chiyogadai's old crossover, on the Horikawa-chō side, was taken out between February and March 2011 — but the points themselves were not scrapped. They were lifted and re-installed on the turnback line at Suehiro-chō Stop, which had been deteriorating: a thrifty bit of reuse that kept the Suehiro-chō reversal in service.
