History
Chikuzen-Yamae Station was established by the Railway Ministry on 7 December 1929. General transport operations were discontinued on 10 February 1972 and the station became unstaffed; parcel handling briefly resumed on 1 October 1974 but was abolished again on 1 June 1978, and freight handling was also abolished on 1 February 1984. It was inherited by Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) at the JNR privatization of 1 April 1987. It is a station on the Chikuhō Main Line (Harada Line) located at Ōaza Yamae, Chikushino City, Fukuoka Prefecture; its station number is JG04, and it remains an unstaffed station where SUGOCA has not been introduced.
Notes
In front of the station, Nishitetsu Fukuoka City Line tram car No. 507 (Type 500) and a former Ōmuta Business Office Isuzu BU15D route bus are preserved as static exhibits by the "Kitakyushu Line Vehicle Preservation Society"; JR Kyushu merely leases the land and is not involved in maintaining the vehicles.
