History

Chiebun Station opened on 3 November 1911 on what is now the Sōya Main Line, in the city of Nayoro, Hokkaidō. The station is a ground-level halt with a single side platform on the west side of the line; its station building, on the same side of the premises, is a converted Yo3500 series brake van. Operation passed from Japanese National Railways to JR Hokkaido at the 1 April 1987 privatisation. The station is unstaffed; in fiscal 2022 it was used by an average of about three passengers a day. Chiebun Marsh and Hokkaido Highway 252 lie nearby.
