History
Asahi Ōtsuka Station opened on 16 October 1916 on what is now the Ohmi Railway Main Line, in present-day Higashiōmi City in Shiga Prefecture. It is operated by the private railway operator Ohmi Railway and carries the station number OR30. The station consists of a single side platform serving one bi-directional track, with no station building — only a shelter on the platform itself — and it remains unattended. The line through the station is also signed as the Minakuchi/Gamōno Line within the Ohmi Railway's branding.
Notes
The area around the station mixes paddies and reservoir ponds, with a small residential cluster to the west and the Gamō Industrial Park spreading to the east.
