History
Ariyoshi Station is an island-platform stop on the Sangi Railway Hokusei Line in Kuwana, Mie Prefecture, 4.1 km from the line's terminus at Nishi-Kuwana (station number H05). It opened on 5 April 1914 as a Hokusei Railway station, became part of Hokusei Electric Railway on 27 June 1934, and after wartime and postwar consolidations joined the Kintetsu network on 1 April 1965. The Hokusei Line was transferred to the private operator Sangi Railway on 1 April 2003. The station was destaffed on 1 February 1979 and remained austere until a new building opened on 27 December 2006, equipped with ticket, fare-adjustment and ticket-gate machines remotely supervised from Tōin Station.
Notes
From the first train on 17 April 2004 the station switched its train-passing arrangement from the previous right-hand running to left-hand running.
