History

Arakawa-kuyakushomae Station (SA 03) is a Tokyo Toden Arakawa Line stop in Arakawa 1-chōme, Arakawa, Tokyo. It opened on 1 April 1913 as Senjū-kandō Station when the Ōji Electric Tramway's line between Minowa (today Minowabashi) and Asukayama-shita (today Kajiwara) opened. On 1 February 1942 the Ōji Electric Tramway was transferred to the City of Tokyo, and the stop became part of the Tokyo City Tram's Mikawashima Line (today the Arakawa Line); it was renamed Mikawashima-nichōme around that time. The stop took its current name in 1961. It has two opposed side platforms.

Notes

Bus stops named for the Arakawa Ward Office stand on Meiji-dōri about 200 metres west of the tram stop, served by Toei buses running to Nippori Station, Kameido Station and the Minami-senju depot, and by an Arakawa community-bus service to Minami-senju Station.
