Location
History
Arahama Station opened on 15 June 1915 on the Echigo Line, 6.6 kilometres from the line's terminus at Kashiwazaki Station. The stop is located in the village of Kariwa in Kariwa District, Niigata Prefecture, and consists of a single ground-level side platform serving a bidirectional track. Operations passed from Japanese National Railways to JR East on 1 April 1987 with the privatisation of JNR. The present station building was completed in 2008. The station is unstaffed, and the Suica farecard cannot be used there.
