History
Aomi Station opened on 1 November 1995 on the Yurikamome line in Aomi 1-chome, Koto, Tokyo. Its station number is U 10, and the unstaffed elevated station has one island platform and two tracks. At first there was almost no commerce nearby and little use, but the opening of Palette Town in 1999 raised passenger numbers sharply and accounted for most of the demand; after the complex closed for redevelopment, all its facilities shut by August 2022, use fell sharply and is now the lowest of any Yurikamome station. It adjoins a Tokyo water bus embarkation pier, and Tokyo Teleport Station on the Rinkai Line lies about five minutes' walk away across the former Palette Town site to the north.
Notes
Because Ome Station, written 青梅 and also in Tokyo, resembles Aomi in writing, singers billed to appear at Palette Town and Zepp Tokyo have been reported on several occasions to have gone there by mistake, and a line of the Echigo Tokimeki Railway in the city of Itoigawa, Niigata Prefecture, has a station written with exactly the same characters as Aomi but read Omi.
