Location

History

Akasaka Station opened on 19 June 1929 as a station of the Fuji Sanroku Electric Railway (Fujisanroku Denki Tetsudō), on what is now the Fujikyuko Line. The operator was renamed Fuji Kyūkō (Fujikyu) on 30 May 1960, and Suica IC service was introduced on 14 March 2015. On 1 April 2022, when Fujikyu split off its railway business, the station passed to the newly separated Fuji Sanroku Electric Railway. The station carries number FJ05.

Notes

Akasaka has a single side platform serving one bi-directional track, with a station building beside the platform housing a waiting room and a simple Suica ticket gate. Although the station is unstaffed, most of its users are students at a nearby high school, so one staff member is posted there on weekday mornings. Katsura High School and the Katsuragawa campus of Health Science University stand near the station.
